Team Update - May/June 2023

Good day, everyone!
It's that time of the month again: another team update for both May and June! Let's start with what's going on right now on The Divine Isles.

Our New Direction

If you haven't read our SMP Revamp announcement post, you'll know that Divine Isles is changing its gamemodes. Our goal is to transition into an events server, with the SMP serving as a "debrief from events" while we work behind the scenes to create another event for you to compete in. 

We are very excited to go in this direction, allowing us to focus more on our events while still providing you with a fun and enjoyable SMP to play on in the meantime. This is a component of our SMP Revamp, which will take place very soon - more on that later!

Pride Logo Reveal

We announced our new logos in May 2023 as part of our Divine Isles logo Rebrand. The Pride logos have been completed and will be used in June, which is also known as Pride month!

For those who are unaware, LGBTQ+ Pride Month is dedicated to the celebration and commemoration of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and many other sexualities and genders associated with LGBTQQIP2SAA+. It is typically celebrated in June each year. Every year, we change our logo to represent and highlight the movement and progress that has been made thus far. Furthermore, Divine Isles does this to celebrate our community and for who they are!

So, without further ado, allow me to present our new Pride month logos:

Overall, the team is very pleased with how the Pride logo turned out; the logo will be used on the majority of our social media platforms, including our Discord. This year, we wish everyone a fantastic Pride 2023! In my personal opinion I think it looks better than our main logo... but don't tell anyone else that!

Update on the SMP

As previously stated, the SMP is becoming a lower priority in comparison to events, but we are not abandoning it completely. The SMP is about to be revamped, which will balance and change the SMP for the better, addressing a number of issues we had previously.

If you haven't already read our SMP Revamp Announcement (which I highly recommend if you have any questions about what's going on with the current SMP), the SMP will begin its revamp on June 12, 2023 at 18:00pm BST (British Summer Time).

Update on Events

In preparation for the SMP Revamp, our events gamemode is currently taking a step back. This will be our sole focus once we have completed and approved the SMP.

A few ideas for our first event on this server are currently circulating, and many of us are very excited to see what happens next. We want to thank everyone who participated in our survey and suggested events to bring to life! The information has been gathered and will be used to improve both the SMP and Event gamemodes.

️ We are recruiting builders!

We are looking for aspiring builders to assist us with our events, SMP, and lobby builds. You do not have to be the best of the best builder to apply; we work with builders of all levels to help them refine their skills.

Welcome our new Trainees!

We have added three new members to the Divine Isles Team as a result of recent Staff Application submissions. They will assist us in making Divine Isles as enjoyable and secure as possible!

Current Team Update

The majority of our team members are finishing up their final exams for the academic year 2022-2023. Support services may be slower than usual; please accept our apologies for any inconvenience. Please keep in mind that all members of the Divine Isles Team are volunteers who work on this in their spare time; they are not required to respond to your ticket right away, thank you.
