Team Update - April 2023

Hello everyone!
Since the opening, The Divine Isles Team has been quiet about what is currently happening with the state of our services. It is hoped that you will stay informed about The Divine Isles' current state and future developments through this monthly update.

Lets get right into it!

Divine Isles Rebrand

We have officially changed our logo yet again to suit a more clean and professional appeal. The previous logo's colour scheme and overall design contained numerous errors. We wanted to clean it up and make the logo less bulky than it was originally.

The fundamentals of the logo have not changed, but the colour scheme and positioning of the clouds have. This was due to the clouds' bulky appearance, which gave the logo the appearance of being stretched beyond what was intended.

The text was also redrawn and coloured in a way that was more pleasing to the eye, with a subtle gradient running through the letters.

Overall the team is rather chuffed about how our new logo has turned out and will be continuing to use it for the years to come. (Unless I, myself gets bored of it and wants to re-draw it AGAIN! Trust me it has happened a lot ?)

?Branding change over

As you may have noticed a few of our social media's and services are not rocking our new, fancy logo ?. Don't worry, we'll be actively switching our logos in the coming weeks; in fact, the website has already begun to do this!

 Will there be any other logos?

There will, indeed! Our Pride 2023 logo is already finished, and we'll start using it as soon as the occasion arises. Every alternative logo is created to celebrate a particular event, such as a holiday or movement. We decided that a Pride one would be the best choice because, as you are aware, The Divine Isles places a strong emphasis on individuality and being yourself.

Don't worry, we won't be missing out on any important holidays or celebrations! The Divine Isles won't be creating a logo for every movement presented, but we will actively push towards as many things as we can through social media posts and events. ?

Update on the SMP

As you may have known Divine Isles fully released its first gamemode, SMP, around a month ago. We wanted to say that we are thrilled with the positive response towards the opening project and are hoping to add onto it as much as possible!

We are currently responding to a lot of bugs and quality of life changes from the opening and are actively working on the next update for our server. Due to our team's current life circumstances and the lack of team members with whom we are currently working with – after all, we are all volunteers – this will take longer than usual.

We can't say much about the new update right now, but it will fix many bugs and improve the quality of life for players while also enhancing a feature that the SMP currently uses. Shhhhh! Keep this information under wraps! ?

Update on Events

To celebrate Easter, our community admins, gonnagetyer and LucyPhoenixx, are hard at work planning a brand-new event that will be revealed to you all soon.

Similar to the SMP, we are currently not permitted to disclose much information about this event, but we will let you know when it is scheduled to take place.

If you want to be the first to know about the event, please consider joining our Discord, they are the first people we tell!

Staff Applications are now closed!

As stated in the title, we are no longer accepting staff applications. We appreciate everyone who applied and expressed interest in working with us. All applications were examined, and future staff members were selected after consideration.

? Please check your alerts inbox frequently to learn whether your application has been approved or denied. A team member will then send you a Discord message to see if you still want to apply for the position.

This is a result of our slightly excessively long open period for staff applications! Our bad ?

When the staff application goes live again, you may reapply if your initial application was rejected. All applications will be updated near the end of this week.

? Still wanting to join the team?

Our Build Applications are still open for people to join! We need aspiring builders to assist us with updating our special occasion projects and building brand-new builds for upcoming events!

You do not have to be considered a "good builder" to apply for the position. Take a chance and apply now!

? The Current Team

As we mentioned further up in this post, our team has declined significantly during the past month. Former admin and staff members _Vaseline_ and ParMarsh graciously left us to pursue other opportunities. We wish them much success in everything they do!

As a result, we wanted to share with you the staff team's current makeup:

Unfortunately, this means that progress is moving a little more slowly than usual. By hiring more people from among our pool of staff applicants, we hope to change this.

We are currently updating some of the pages on our website with fresh headers and images. This is consistent with our brand image and will improve the visual appeal of our website for both new visitors and account holders.

Nothing revolutionary will be altered on the website, but there will be enough of a visual shift to be noticed. The rules page serves as an example of this.

That is all we have to say at the moment, but we are looking forward to showing you what we are working on.
